The Gold Standard in IPL™ Therapy
Lumenis pioneered IPL™, and the fourth generation Lumenis One has patented state of the art technology optimizing power-pulsing and light-delivery to provide maximum results, comfort and safety. We are dedicated to performing only the very best IPL™ photofacial treatments at, which is why we have made the investment in the Lumenis One.
During a photofacial treatment, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL™) technology sends a broad spectrum of therapeutic light into the skin which can simultaneously treat multiple skin conditions. Once the light reaches its target, it is then transformed to heat energy. The light is absorbed either superficially, by broken capillaries and dark pigment, or deeply, by larger vessels and collagen. Dilated capillaries coagulate, pigmented lesions darken and then slough off and new collagen fibers are laid down, giving the skin a renewed and more youthful appearance.

Benefits of an IPL™ Photofacial
There are many advantages to photofacial treatment with IPL™ technology. The entire procedure lasts approximately 30 minutes, and because there is no need for anesthesia, there is no prolonged recovery time. Patients report that the treatment feels like a rubber band snap, although the level of discomfort during IPL™ treatment ranges from mild to moderate. A slight burning sensation may last for up to one hour after treatment. You may experience pinkness of the treated area for a few hours immediately after the treatment, but makeup can be applied and normal activity can be resumed immediately. Pigmented spots being treated may also darken slightly for several days before fading.
For maximum results, a series of four to six IPL™ photofacial treatments may be recommended, depending on the number of conditions you are treating and the severity of the individual problem.
These treatments are separated by three to five weeks. By dividing the full program into several treatments, the IPL™ method provides gradual improvement with very low risk. After your initial series of treatments, your results should be maintained with an effective home skin care regimen, and a single photorejuvenation treatment every three to six months.
