BOTOX is an extremely popular and very effective cosmetic treatment. The aging process is certainly 3-dimensional. Over the years we tend to lose fat in our face, especially in the cheeks. Dr. Eliopoulos also sees this midface volume loss in her patients who are avid exercisers with lean body mass. This volume loss and flattening of the cheek area can give us a more tired, drawn, aged appearance due to the shadowing effect and by contributing to skin excess at the nasolabial folds (lines running from corner of nose to the corner of the mouth) and below the eye area. KYBELLA

KYBELLA injections are a minimally invasive treatment that does not involve any type of surgery or incisions. Following a visit to our office, patients may experience some minor bruising, swelling, numbness, and some firm areas around the injection site. Many of the side effects will dissipate in just a couple of days, but others may last up to three weeks. After your first treatment, we will also schedule you for your next visit, commonly within two to three months. By your next treatment, you will typically be seeing changes in the contour of your neck as your body naturally eliminates those fat cells destroyed by the KYBELLA. The great news is that you will not make new fat cells to replace these!

RADIESSE

Belotero Balance is an FDA approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler that has some unique properties which allows Dr. Eliopoulos to more effectively target these superficial lines. This dermal filler is a soft, cohesive gel that quickly integrates into the skin and can be used to treat a wide range of facial wrinkles.

Unlike other injectable fillers like Juvederm hyaluronic acid filler and Radiesse volumizing filler which Dr. Eliopoulos uses to more aggressively “volumize” an area, Belotero Balance is used more as a “line” filler rather than a “true volumizer”. Dr. Eliopoulos often uses the following analogy… If you were going to repair a “dent in a car” you might use Juvederm or Radiesse. But if you then wanted to “fix the scratches” in the paint, you would use Belotero Balance.

Sometimes to get the best correction, Dr Eliopoulos may layer one filler on top of the other. For example, she might first treat an area more deeply with Juvederm or Radiesse to volumize a deeper fold, and then, layer in Belotero Balance on top for the fine work or finishing touches on the more superficial creases.
