What is Botox®?
Each day, the muscles in our faces contract and release whenever we smile, frown, or make expressions. Did you know that as we hit our 20’s, we are starting to lose collagen and elastin in our skin?
This loss of collagen and elastin in our skin over time, along with this repetitive muscle activity, contributes to the development of unwanted “dynamic wrinkles”. So even at younger ages, depending on our muscle activity, skin quality and thickness, and genetic make-up, we can begin to see these wrinkles forming in areas like our forehead, or between our eyebrows.
Botox® is a purified protein that temporarily relaxes the muscles we are trying to target, in order to soften the appearance of these dynamic wrinkles. As our muscles relax, you will notice softer expression lines. While we can’t prevent wrinkles from ever developing, continued Botox® use may slow down the process.

How much does Botox® cost?
Botox® is a highly personalized treatment, which means the approach, injection sites, amount of units, and anticipated results will vary based on your specific anatomy and desires.
If you are interested in learning more about Botox® Boston patients can begin with a consultation. Even before your consultation, when you call us to inquire about Botox, you will be able to speak with our Patient Care Coordinator. After discussing your concerns, she can provide you with information about Botox, along with a cost estimate for your Botox® treatment.
At your consultation, Dr. Eliopoulos or her team of nurse injectors will perform a full examination and then finalize the individualized recommended dose for you. This will come with a more detailed price for that treatment. You will also learn about great ways to save on future treatments, such as through the Allé rewards program.
Do Injectables hurt?
Injectable treatments are revered as quick, fast, and often virtually painless. Some may experience a pinching or pricking sensation during the injections, but no icing or topical numbing is required.
How soon will I see results?
You will typically start noticing the effects of your Botox® treatment within 3-7 days. By two weeks, you should be able to appreciate your full results. We like to see our new Botox® patients at this two-week period to see how you liked the treatment and if the dosing was appropriate. This way, we can ensure the best dosing and treatment going forward.
How long will results last?
For most patients, the results of a Botox® treatment will be visible for around three to four months. This can vary based on the severity of the wrinkles, your muscle strength, and anatomy, your genetic makeup. For best results and more consistent correction, most patients will be scheduled for follow-up treatments within this 3-4 month window.
