What is Morpheus8?

As collagen production slows down with age, fine lines and loss of firmness take hold, ultimately causing your face and body to look older. For patients who are trying to change that trajectory, Morpheus8 by InMode is an excellent skin-tightening option.

This treatment delivers fractional radiofrequency (RF) energy through gold-tipped micro-needles to improve skin firmness and elasticity on a deeper level than a typical microneedling alone. As the microneedles and RF energy penetrate the skin, a natural repair process takes place to boost collagen and elastin production while tightening the skin by coagulating the tissues. As collagen rebuilds, the skin becomes progressively tighter, firmer, and more youthful in appearance. The procedure is customized to patients needs by varying the depth of penetration and energy delivered.

What concerns does Morpheus8 address?

Morpheus8 does more than provide tighter, firmer skin. Dr. Eliopoulos also finds it improves enlarged pores, dullness, sun damage, and textural issues such as scarring on areas.

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Skin texture and tone
  • Laxity in the face, jawline and neck
  • Acne and acne scarring
  • Contour irregularities and cellulite

What is the difference between Morpheus8 and Morpheus8 Body?

The Morpheus8 is equipped with four interchangeable microneedling tips to target different body parts at the ideal depth. Morpheus8 is used for treating skin laxity on areas such as the face, neck, jawline with the 12 and 24-pin tips. The Resurfacing tip can be used in addition when epidermal resurfacing and ablation of the superficial skin is needed for wrinkles, stretch marks and scars, to improve skin texture.

Morpheus8 Body is used for remodeling larger areas of the body like the chest, abdomen, arms, thighs and knees, and treatment of cellulite. The larger 40-pin tip can deliver energy more effectively and efficiently to deeper depths up to 8mm, often in conjunction with “Burst Mode” technology for more tightening of the deeper fibroseptal network (FSN).

What are the benefits of Morpheus8?

The age-defying results of Morpheus8 tend to be more pronounced than other RF microneedling devices or standalone microneedling. By treating the epidermal and dermal skin layers and subdermal layers at the same time, Morpheus8 technology delivers faster and more dramatic results in less time.

Am I a candidate for Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 is suitable for treating mild to moderate skin laxity on the face and body. It is excellent for patients looking for a minimally invasive treatment to achieve firmer, younger skin without resorting to cosmetic surgery. This technology is “color-blind” and therefore safe for all types of skin. There is little risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), so it can treat nearly all skin tones. Your Morpheus8 Procedure

When you arrive at The Center for Plastic Surgery, in Boston area, we will first cleanse your face and apply a topical anesthetic to the treatment zone. After about 45 minutes, your treatment will then begin. Using a “stamping” technique, the Morpheus8 applicator will be pressed into your skin. As the microneedles penetrate the dermis, the applicator simultaneously emits RF energy. The depth of penetration varies depending on the clinical goals. The treatment generally takes less than an hour. Before you leave, Alastin Nectar will be applied.

Morpheus8 Recovery

Patients love the little to no downtime after Morpheus8. You can resume most daily activities immediately. Initially, your skin may appear slightly pink or swollen. This is temporary and most will find that by a few hours the pinkness is mild. Typically you are back to normal in a few days. For those choosing to have a more aggressive treatment, 3-5 days may be needed. Makeup application is safe after 48 hours once the tiny skin channels have closed. Wearing broad-spectrum SPF is essential to protect your skin while it heals. We will guide you on the best pre and post-treatment care to ensure the best healing and results. In particular, we recommend that our Boston Morpheus8 patients prep their skin before and after with Alastin Regenerating Nectar to speed up recovery even more.

Morpheus8 Results

A few days after their treatment with Morpheus8 Boston patients will begin to notice early improvements. The results will become more apparent over the next few weeks with final improvement by about 3 months. Dr. Eliopoulos recommends three treatments spaced four to six weeks apart. To continue staving off the aging process, schedule a maintenance visit at least once a year.
