BodyTite in Boston
Body Transformation Through Skin Tightening and Fat Removal
Many people have loose skin and fat that simply won’t go away with diet and exercise.
In the past, invasive procedures such as liposuction and tummy tucks were the only ways to correct mild to moderate skin laxity and stubborn areas of fat. Later advancements in non-surgical body contouring came on the market, but they often required repeat treatments over many months to yield a result only a fraction as good as plastic surgery.
For our patients in Boston BodyTite treatments performed by Dr. Dina Eliopoulos at The Center for Plastic Surgery can change all that. BodyTite makes it possible to simultaneously tighten skin and reduce body fat with no general anesthesia. Best of all, a single treatment delivers results you can begin to see in just a few weeks.
What is BodyTite?
InMode’s BodyTite is a powerful skin tightening and fat reduction device that slims and tones areas such as the abdomen, thighs, arms, chin, and flanks using a technique known as Radiofrequency Assisted Liposuction or RFAL. This FDA-cleared treatment is minimally invasive and takes place in a comfortable treatment room. Fast and virtually painless, BodyTite remodels the soft tissue and subcutaneous fat layer for a more sculpted and youthful physique in one visit.
Using targeted bipolar radiofrequency (RF) energy, BodyTite stimulates the dermis and subdermal connective tissue to contract with gentle heat. At the same time, the heat energy stimulates the formation of new collagen fibers for firmer, tighter skin over time. It also causes coagulation of the adipose tissue that is then liposuctioned away to reduce stubborn fat that won’t go away with traditional diet and exercise. The result is a slimmer body contour with youthful tonality and improved texture.
What Areas can be treated with BodyTite?
The following areas of the body can be effectively treated with BodyTite:
- Back and Bra rolls
- Abdomen, waist, and hips
- Thighs and knees
- Male breasts
What are the benefits of BodyTite?
BodyTite offers two benefits in one procedure. Using precisely honed technology, it provides three-dimensional dermal contraction and a marked reduction in subcutaneous fat. Compared to traditional body contouring surgery involving skin excision, scarring is minimal with BodyTite, and there is little downtime and no general anesthesia. Furthermore, the advantage of BodyTite over traditional Liposuction is the added tightening effect with BodyTite. The advanced technology of BodyTite also allows for more rapid and uniform heating of tissue for more safety and efficacy and more uniform tightening.
Who is a candidate for BodyTite?
BodyTite is excellent for fit, healthy individuals who have mild to moderate fat deposits and skin laxity. It is not used for weight loss or severe skin redundancy after massive weight loss. Patients with more extensive excess skin may be better served with excisional procedures such as Abdominoplasty which Dr. Eliopoulos also specializes in. So she will be able to recommend which body contouring procedure will be best for you.
One of the appeals of BodyTite is that you can have this procedure right in the comfort of our office. You are relaxed and comfortable throughout the procedure with local anesthesia. Here is the general procedure:
- After numbing the target area with tumescent fluid, Dr. Eliopoulos uses the BodyTite probe to deliver bipolar RF heat energy to the tissue.
- The handpiece has two electrodes that work simultaneously - the external electrode glides along the skin surface to stimulate collagen production in the skin while the internal electrode 2mm probe is passed under the skin and in the deeper tissue to liquify fat and stimulate collagen production and tightening of the soft tissues and fibroseptal network internally.
- As she glides the probe along the skin surface, RF energy flows between the two probes. Safety technology facilitates adequate and uniform energy delivery to minimize complications.
- Dr. Eliopoulos then completes the transformation by performing liposuction on the treated area. This combination allows removal of fat cells, collagen production, and tightening of the soft tissues resulting in a firm, toned, and more youthful body contour.
Most patients find recovery fairly easy and typically resume normal activities in a few days or less. You may experience mild soreness and discomfort for a few days. Swelling, bruising, redness, and numb sensations are common but temporary side effects. Wearing the light compression garment for several weeks after under your clothes helps to expedite your recovery. Dr. Eliopoulos will provide a complete post treatment guide and follow up in her office to help ensure you get the best possible results from your procedure. She will guide you when it is safe to resume light exercise, usually in 3 weeks.

How long do BodyTite results last?
BodyTite results can last up to a year or longer, but only so long as your weight is maintained with regular diet and exercise. Weight gain will begin to undo the aesthetic results of the procedure, so it is important to stay active and healthy for longer-lasting results.
Does BodyTite remove fat?
BodyTite is a minimally invasive, effective body contouring procedure. Using radiofrequency (or RF) energy, it’s able to remove fat and tighten skin in one session. The radiofrequency energy promotes collagen production, providing support for saggy and lax skin. It’s an effective procedure to treat lax skin from childbirth, aging, or weight loss. Very often, liposuction is done alongside a BodyTite, providing the means to remove even more fat.
